Senior Shift Supervisor

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Senior Shift Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our organic food retail store in Coimbatore. The role involves supervising the store team during the shift, driving sales, maintaining stock accuracy, ensuring excellent customer service, and keeping the store organized and compliant with hygiene standards. Candidates with prior experience in retail store supervision, supermarket, grocery, organic food, FMCG, or food retail are preferred. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate day-to-day store operations during the assigned shift. Lead, guide, and monitor sales and store staff to ensure smooth operations. Assign daily responsibilities and monitor staff attendance and performance. Support the team in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets. Assist customers with product enquiries and provide a friendly shopping experience. Explain product features, benefits, pricing, offers, and usage information where required. Handle customer feedback, complaints, and escalations professionally. Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of products. Check product quality, freshness, packaging, and expiry dates regularly. Assist with receiving, counting, arranging, and storing incoming stock. Maintain accurate inventory and support periodic stock audits. Prepare daily sales, stock, and shift reports. Monitor billing and cash-handling activities and ensure accuracy. Ensure shelves, displays, counters, and storage areas are clean and properly organized. Maintain food safety, hygiene, and store cleanliness standards. Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving products and report replenishment requirements. Coordinate with management and suppliers when required. Train new team members on store procedures, product knowledge, customer service, and sales practices. Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly. Resolve routine operational issues during the shift and escalate major issues to management. Ensure company policies, security procedures, and operational standards are followed. Requirements Previous experience in retail store supervision or shift management is preferred. Experience in organic food, grocery, supermarket, FMCG, or food retail is an advantage. Strong team supervision and people-management skills. Good communication and customer-handling abilities. Ability to achieve sales targets and motivate the sales team. Basic knowledge of inventory management and stock reconciliation. Comfortable handling billing/POS systems and basic computer applications. Good attention to detail when handling stock, billing, and reports. Understanding of basic food hygiene and product-quality practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. Responsible, punctual, and comfortable taking ownership of shift operations. Candidates from Coimbatore and nearby areas are preferred.
